I'm 29 years old (30 in October), born & raised in Boynton Beach, FL. Throughout my life I've been active one way or another, outdoor play and sports as a child, running in high school, weightlifting in my 20s, and a labor based job now with some gym time sprinkled in. I'm a bit of a mixed bag when it comes to what I enjoy, whether its staying in with my fiancé watching movies or a tv show, or out and about at one of our go-to spots. I like to consider myself a introverted extrovert, so the more you get to know me, the more I open up, maybe to point where I talk too much (ha).
Why I do what I do
After years of multiple part time jobs at the same time throughout college (because the law says you can't work more then x hours as a part timer, but you're welcome to work 2-3+ jobs all you want), I came across a position as a mover at a local franchise moving company. I was open to labor but didn't know much of what to expect. Turns out, I was pretty good at it, and the few years of weightlifting helped out with the strength aspect. One of the services often seen around moving was Junk Removal. Cue "How can I utilize my skill set while dealing out less effort, while still helping someone with a stressful situation". On the surface, I enjoy the core aspect of moving- the problem solving, the huge pieces of furniture that seem crazy to the naked eye to lift up and walk out the front door with in less then 30 seconds, all the way to the satisficed feeling of the clean space you leave behind afterwards. Deep down, clutter is something I've dealt with all my life. My mother, who was and still is, an avid collector of "things", always had what clutter is defined as, "a collection of things lying about in an untidy mass". But it more so to the point of it being embarrassing to have friends over at the house, or occasionally stubbing your toe or shin on a furniture piece in the hallways. So deep down, maybe I secretly like the decluttering process. Plus I come across cool and unique things from time to time, Bonus! Most of my jobs are picking up an old piece of furniture that was recently replaced, or some collected "junk" that hasn't made its way to the curb. However, I also deal with more stressful situations like the passing of a loved one who was unknowingly a "collector of things" that turns a bad situation into a worse one when they no idea how to handle this new overwhelming situation, or a real estate agent's client just purchased a new house that was left with a mess of stuff that needs to be cleared out. Any of the above situations often cause stress one way or another, and I appreciate being the one to help resolve that, in an efficient and caring manner.
