My name is Jessalyn Burden, founder and owner of Inspired Tutors LLC. I am a new wife
of two years, and together we have two german shepherds, Loki and Lottie. I am a health and
fitness nut. Growing up with certified nutritionists for parents, I guess you could say it’s just a
part of me. I love starting my day at the gym with my husband and I am always trying out new,
healthy recipes. I love to read. Books that help my business and help me to grow, mystery
books that I can read in less than a day, and of course I love a good romance. I am bilingual
(Romanian), due to spending most of my childhood living in Romania with my parents and 4
younger siblings. I was homeschooled my entire life and am a huge advocate for parents who
choose this route.
Why I do what I do
What do you enjoy about your job? I love being able to work from home. I love that every bit of effort that I put into my business goes towards something that I feel very passionately about. ● What is it about helping the clients that fuels you daily? Working with children with disabilities isn’t always easy, but being able to give them the 1-1 support they need, that they might not always receive during the school day, and continuously learning and researching how to best teach them is what fuels my passion daily. Being able to see excitement when a child finally gets the question correct after days of struggle. It makes it all worth it. ● How does loving your job impact your personal life? I am always ready and willing to talk about what I do. Whether I am at the pool and someone asks about what I am working on or sharing my wins on social media; when you own your own business, your business and personal life tend to run together. I definitely set boundaries during the evenings and weekends so as not to get burnt out, but when your job is also your passion, most of the time it doesn’t really feel like work.
