My name is Jessalyn Burden, founder and owner of Inspired Tutors LLC. I am a new wife
of two years, and together we have two german shepherds, Loki and Lottie. I am a health and
fitness nut. Growing up with certified nutritionists for parents, I guess you could say it’s just a
part of me. I love starting my day at the gym with my husband and I am always trying out new,
healthy recipes. I love to read. Books that help my business and help me to grow, mystery
books that I can read in less than a day, and of course I love a good romance. I am bilingual
(Romanian), due to spending most of my childhood living in Romania with my parents and 4
younger siblings. I was homeschooled my entire life and am a huge advocate for parents who
choose this route.
Why I do what I do
I love being able to work from home. I love that every bit of effort that I put into my business goes towards something that I feel very passionately about. Working with children with disabilities isn’t always easy, but being able to provide them with one-on-one support that they may not always receive during the school day, and continuously learning and researching how to best teach them, fuels my passion daily. Being able to see excitement when a child finally gets the question correct after days of struggle. It makes it all worth it. I truly love what I do, and I feel like that passion shows up in my everyday life. Whether I’m out on a hike and chatting with someone on the trail, or sharing milestones on social media, I’m always happy to talk about my work. As any business owner knows, the lines between personal and professional life often overlap. To keep balance, I set aside evenings and weekends for adventures and time with family.
